Celtic winger Hassan withdraws from international duty
Celtic winger Haissem Hassan has deepened the Glasgow club's injury woes after withdrawing from international duty with Egypt. The 24-year-old winger was unable to join up with the squad for their Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matches against Angola and South Sudan after head coach Hossam Hassan revealed the forward is undergoing "intensive treatment" for an unspecified issue. He becomes the second Celtic player, after Scotland left-back Kieran Tierney, to withdraw from international duty due to injury. "Haissem Hassan is receiving intensive treatment just now," the head coach said. "But I am not worried about his absence because we have a lot of excellent players to replace him. "Haissem is a vital technical asset for our long-term vision, but his recent injury made it impossible for him to join us for this camp. "We prioritise player health and full physical recovery above all else and we expect him back once he is 100 per cent fit."
