Barcelona winger enters new phase of recovery after long-term injury

Barcelona winger enters new phase of recovery after long-term injury As reported by SPORT , FC Barcelona winger Roony Bardghji continues to make progress in his recovery from his ACL injury. The Swedish international’s rehabilitation is understood to be progressing as planned even though he still has a very long road ahead of him. Bardghji issues update Earlier today, the Barcelona winger shared a video on Instagram showing him running in the water, one of the exercises commonly used during the early stages of rehabilitation from an injury of this nature. It indicates that everything is proceeding according to the expected timetable and the initial signs are positive. However, there is still a long way to go for the attacker. Bardghji was injured on 10 August during a training session at the Ciutat Esportiva , with subsequent tests confirming a tear of the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee. On 12 August, he underwent successful surgery performed by Dr Joan Carles Monllau. Barcelona did not officially set a specific recovery period, although injuries of this type generally require a lengthy rehabilitation process. Taking into account the recovery itself, the gradual return to group training and the point at which the player is genuinely ready to compete normally, the process can take around a year. Recovering muscle mass At this stage, it is still too early to see him working with the ball or training normally on the pitch. Working in the water allows him to gradually recover mobility, strength and muscle mass while reducing the load placed on the joint. Following ACL surgery, it is common for the affected leg to suffer a significant loss of muscle mass and strength. Recovering that muscle is therefore a fundamental part of the rehabilitation process. Making good progress in his recovery. The first came in 2024, when he was still with FC Copenhagen, and kept him out for several months. This summer, he had opportunities to leave Barcelona in search of playing time that would have been difficult to find in Hansi Flick’s team. The injury put an end to any possibility of a departure. The road will be long, but the Swedish winger is making progress steadily as he aims to bounce back stronger than before from the setback.
