Barcelona star Rodri admits he wants to win the Ballon d’Or again: ‘You think I don’t want it?’ Rodri has made it clear that he wants to win the Ballon d’Or again, with the Barcelona midfielder openly acknowledging his ambition after a World Cup-winning campaign with Spain. The midfielder was named MVP of the 2026 FIFA World Cup as Spain lifted the trophy, adding another major achievement to his individual resume.  Yet despite the team-first nature of his comments, Rodri has no issue admitting that another Ballon d’Or remains a personal target. It’s clear that it’s a team sport and that everything each player achieves is the result of teamwork.  “I said I’d prefer a Spaniard to win it, but of course I want to win it. Since it doesn’t depend on me, I don’t go around saying so.” Barcelona’s Spain connection could benefit Rodri Rodri also discussed his return after two months away and the emotional significance of being back on the pitch alongside several familiar faces from Barcelona. “It’s a very exciting time for me. A moment of great euphoria and joy. Because of what I came back for and being able to prove to myself that I was back,” he explained. The core role is practically identical.  “In terms of footballing concepts, Hansi defends differently, but broadly speaking, they demand the same things.
