Brentford keen to extend Kevin Schade’s contract to ward off Liverpool and Arsenal Brentford have opened initial talks with Kevin Schade over a new long-term contract as they look to fend off interest from Arsenal and Liverpool, according to Sky Sports . The German ace has made an excellent start to the 2026/27 campaign, scoring three goals as the Bees remain unbeaten after their opening five Premier League games and sit fourth in the table. Schade’s form has made him a target for some of the Premier League’s biggest clubs, with Arsenal and Liverpool showing interest in his services towards the end of the summer transfer window. Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur have also monitored the 24-year-old in the past, but Brentford are now looking to strengthen their position by improving his current terms. Schade’s contract runs until 2028. He is in the final two years of the five-year deal he signed after joining from Freiburg in June 2023. Brentford paid a then club-record fee for the forward, reported at around £20 million. Schade has developed into an important attacking player for the Bees alongside Igor Thiago and Mikkel Damsgaard. He scored eight Premier League goals and registered four assists in 35 appearances last season. His three goals this term have taken his Brentford tally to 25 goals and nine assists in 119 appearances. His progress has also been recognised internationally. Schade has established himself in the Germany squad and started Jurgen Klopp’s first match in charge against the Netherlands, earning his sixth cap. Arsenal’s interest could be particularly significant given their need for another left-sided winger following the departures of Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard . Liverpool already have enough depth on the left but could see Schade as an option for the opposite flank. Brentford boss Keith Andrews has made it clear that he wants Schade to remain in West London, describing him as an important member of the squad. Now, the Bees must convince him to stay.
