Real Madrid seriously considering bringing back former defender next summer Real Madrid are seriously considering bringing Jacobo Ramon back to the Santiago Bernabeu next summer, with the defender’s current situation at Como giving the club an inexpensive route to re-sign him. According to Matteo Moretto (h/t Madrid Xtra ), Los Blancos can activate an €8-9 million buy-back option for the centre-back.  Notably, the possibility is particularly relevant with Antonio Rudiger’s contract set to expire at the end of the season. The club subsequently explored the market for more experienced centre-backs while also working on a solution for Raul Asencio.  Ramon, meanwhile, had already decided to remain at Como for another season and continue working under Cesc Fabregas. It must be remembered that Real Madrid sold Ramon in 2025 for €2.5 million plus bonuses.  Como acquired 50% of Ramon’s rights, while Real Madrid retained the remaining share and, crucially, negotiated a series of buy-back opportunities. That structure has left the door open for Ramon to return to Madrid if his development convinces the club. Notably, Rudiger’s contract situation means Real Madrid may need to reassess their centre-back options next summer, and Ramon could now enter that discussion as a player already known to the club. Certainly, there is still a long way to go before any decision is made, particularly with Ramon continuing his development at Como. However, the existence of a cheaper clause gives Real Madrid flexibility.
