Yet Eduardo Camavinga (23) is indeed present. Having not been selected by Didier Deschamps for this summer’s World Cup and fresh from a turbulent transfer window, during which his name was linked with rumours of a move away from Real Madrid, the midfielder has nevertheless found his way back to Clairefontaine. The goal for him now is to establish a long-term place in the group. As reported by L’Équipe , his new manager, Zinédine Zidane, values both his profile and his experience, which he considers precious for building his France team. Indeed, it was the former Les Bleus number 10 who, in the summer of 2021, was instrumental in securing his move to Los Merengues . But since then, much has changed, and Camavinga has experienced several highs and numerous lows. Once regarded as an undisputed first-team regular for several seasons now, the former Stade Rennais FC player has struggled with recurring injuries and lacklustre performances, leaving him closer to the bench than the starting eleven. This trend has not been reversed by the arrival of José Mourinho as manager of the Madrid side, with Camavinga having to make do with just two starts in six appearances (240 minutes of playing time) since the start of the season.
