Their 2025-26 summer window saw them bring in over £200 million thanks to the sheer number of players that they got rid of with many people believing that they'd be much better off. However, at times, that has been far from the case with Liverpool often looking worse than ever at different points during last years campaign. In fact, some fans were even questioning whether players such as Florian Wirtz and Alexander Isak were even worth bringing in after how badly they performed. Obviously, these below-par performances have led to many different rumours emerging about the future of Liverpool's first-team squad with many players, such as Trent Alexander-Arnold even being linked with a potential return . However, it's not him who Liverpool are now regretting getting rid of. Liverpool 'regret' the sale of Tyler Morton to Olympique Lyon One of the Reds' main problem positions over the last couple of years has been their midfield. Most people thought that Liverpool would at least try and bring a new central midfielder in this summer but, in the end, they actually made themselves weaker by getting rid of Curtis Jones. Of course, Trey Nyoni has done a fairly solid job at covering the void left by the Englishman but, to almost anyone who watches Liverpool, it's clear that a new defensive-midfielder or two is needed. But, since Liverpool have already filled all of their non-homegrown spots among their first-team squad, they can only really bring homegrown players in, that is, unless one of their current players are moved on. Many different players have been linked with an Anfield switch but now, according to TuttoJuve, Liverpool have some major regrets about the sale of Tyler Morton . "Juventus are eyeing Tyler Morton : Liverpool are also interested, but regret selling him," they wrote . "The story takes on a curious tone, especially when viewed from Liverpool's perspective. Two seasons ago, the Reds decided to let him go, earning around €18 million from Lyon. "It was a financially understandable decision at the time. However, the pitch would later alter their valuations. Morton made 43 appearances in all competitions last season, scoring two goals and providing three assists. "At Anfield they are reportedly completely reevaluating the decision made two years ago, Liverpool now consider Morton ready to return to competing at a high level and have not ruled out an attempt to buy him back." Liverpool re-sigining Tyler Morton would make a lot of sense As mentioned, Liverpool's lack of homegrown players is becoming a major issue. Not only did they move a fair few of them on last summer but, even just a month or so ago, Andoni Iraola and Richard Hughes both chose to get rid of players such as Jones and Harvey Elliott . This left the Reds rather short in midfield with other clubs clearly knowing that they're desperate for a new midfielder or two. Obviously, this could end up leading to Liverpool getting quoted inflated prices for any new players that they target. However, for Morton, it feels like he could be worth the extra money. He had an extremely impressive season for Lyon last term and, since he's trained with Liverpool before the age of 21, he'd be classed as homegrown at club which would be massively helpful for the Reds' Champions League squad. And, since Lyon aren't the richest team in Ligue 1, it feels like a decent deal could be struck for the midfielder.
