Both Cody Gakpo and Alexander Isak picked up injuries in the opening week of the international break, adding to an already worrying list of injuries at Anfield. The Reds are currently left without a natural option through the middle of their attack, but Andoni Iraola has already given a pretty clear idea of who he might pick in his strikers' absence. Now, with no more senior option at striker, it looks as though the 21-year-old could be in line for his second start under Iraola. Bradley Barcola and Rio Ngumoha are likely to make up the rest of the front three, although Victor Munoz could also get a look in, but Koumas has impressed when he has played so far, and was a standout performer for Wales against Portugal last week . If the youngster can keep himself fit for the rest of the break he may well find himself starting at Anfield on 11 October against a Man City team who have just reportedly been found guilty of 114 of their 115 charges. Koumas could even rub salt in the wounds by scoring his first goal of the season, and all eyes will be on the 21-year-old as the end of the international break edges closer.
