Having already seen Ryan Gravenberch and then Dominik Szoboszlai extend their deals, Mac Allister felt hurt when no new deal was put on the table for him ahead of the 2026/27 campaign. With the midfielder set to turn 28 before the end of the season the club reportedly do not view an extension as a priority, but a new report has suggested that not all hope is lost for the Argentine. The report, from Football Insider , states that Mac Allister has been told he must prove he deserves to be offered a new deal at Liverpool. Mac Allister has been one of the standout performers for Iraola’s side this campaign, and if the midfielder can maintain his form then a new deal could well be on the cards. The 27-year-old's current deal doesn’t expire until the summer of 2028, so there is no immediate risk of losing him for free, but if no new deal has been agreed before the summer then it would make sense to explore a move away. If Mac Allister continues to make himself invaluable to Iraola then the club will struggle to justify not handing the Argentine a contract, so his future appears to be in his own hands.
