England star ruled out of clash with Czech Republic as Rio Ngumoha called up

Nico O’Reilly will miss out on England ’s upcoming Nations League game with the Czech Republic after missing training on Monday. The Manchester City defender played all 90 minutes of the Three Lions ’ 3-2 loss to Spain on Saturday but has not been included in the squad for the visit to Prague. He and Ezri Konsa , who also played for the entire game, both followed individual programmes at the Tottenham Hotspur training ground on Monday, according to the FA . All the other members of Thomas Tuchel ’s squad trained together. But Konsa is set to be fit to make the squad, while Liverpool starlet Rio Ngumoha - who missed out on inclusion for the Spain game - has been called up in O’Reilly’s absence. England came from behind after Lamine Yamal ’s second-minute goal to lead the world champions 2-1 in Saturday’s game at Wembley, before O’Reilly - who assisted Harry Kane ’s goal shortly before half-time - lost possession, allowing substitute Alex Baena to equalise. Luis de la Fuente’s side were also the beneficiaries of Kane missing a penalty in a frantic, gripping encounter before Mikel Oyarzabal’s winner later in the second half. The result left Tuchel’s side ruing individual errors , with Marc Guehi at fault for Yamal’s opener and later replaced by Jarrad Branthwaite . The Everton defender could deputise for Konsa if the Arsenal player is only fit enough for the bench. Tuchel later suggested reports that Manchester City have been found guilty of 114 of the 115 charges of breaking the Premier League’s financial rules could have weighed on the minds of the two City players to make errors, Guehi and O’Reilly. Asked whether the news was a distraction, he said: “Not for me but I can imagine for the Manchester City players. For the players who have more time than me, for sure I can imagine they talk about it.” England play four matches in this international break, with home and away fixtures against the Czech Republic - the first on Tuesday night - either side of a visit to Croatia.
