Hartlepool bring in goalkeeper Thompson
Hartlepool United have brought in goalkeeper Max Thompson on an initial short-term deal. The 22-year-old has been named in Pools' starting line-up for the home game with Harrogate Town (19:45 BST). Thompson was released by Newcastle United in the summer without playing a senior game and he last played on loan for Ayr United in the Scottish Championship last season. But he has EFL experience from loan spells with both Chesterfield and Northampton Town.
