Bickley double helps Jersey Bulls draw at Egham Town

Lorne Bickley took his tally to three goals in his last two Jersey Bulls matches [Lynden Humphrey/Burgess Hill Town FC] Ten-man Jersey Bulls came back from 3-1 down to draw 3-3 at Egham Town in an exciting Isthmian League South Central clash. The draw extended the islanders' unbeaten run to 24 Isthmian League matches - a recond stretching back to 30 December - but found themselves 3-2 down after a frantic first half in Surrey. It took just four minutes for the hosts to go ahead as Connor Cullen dinked a cross over onrushing debutant goalkeeper Sam Devy for Sebastian Karczewski to head in from close range. Karczewski needed just four more minutes to make it 2-0 when he arrived unmarked in the six-yard box to head in a flicked-on long throw. Lorne Bickley tapped in James Sunley's low pass at the far post to pull a 12th-minute goal back for Jersey Bulls, but three minutes later it was 3-1 as Karczewski's looping cross saw Rayan Djouadj out jump Devy to nod home. Sunley had a 20th-minute header palmed onto the woodwork by Egham goalkeeper Sam Swyer while at the other end Cullen had a shot cleared off the line by Jack Lumsden after he had rounded Devy. But Bickley made it 3-2 three minutes before the interval as he blasted an effort from the right corner of the 18-yard box that went through Swyer's hands. Bulls sealed a point after an hour when Sammy Henia-Kamau's free kick from the edge of the box deflected off the wall and past a wrong-footed Swyer. But just two minutes later Bulls were reduced to 10 men when Harry Curtis was shown a red card after kicking out at Cullen after the pair went to ground challenging for the ball. The Jersey side needed Devy to be at his best as he thwarted a number of Egham efforts with his side a man down as the hosts tried in vain to get a winner. The draw leaves the Bulls fifth in the table, a point off second-placed AFC Portchester with a game in hand and eight off leaders Bognor Regis Town who have played two more matches.
