Real Madrid believe Manchester City goal machine could be available in 2027 – report Real Madrid could make another attempt to sign Erling Haaland in 2027, with English journalist Graeme Bailey (h/t Defensa Central ) claiming the Manchester City striker could become available next year. Haaland’s future at the Etihad Stadium has attracted severe attention, and Bailey believes Real Madrid are preparing for a potential opportunity to finally bring the Norway international to Spain. Notably, the striker has long been on Real Madrid’s radar.  Even though Florentino Perez has prioritised Kylian Mbappe over Haaland, the situation could change if the Norwegian decides to leave Manchester City, with Bailey pointing to 2027 as a potentially decisive year. It must be remembered that Real Madrid’s interest is not new.  The club monitored Haaland during his Borussia Dortmund spell before eventually making Mbappe their priority.  Mbappe’s eventual arrival changed the equation, but it did not necessarily end Madrid’s interest in the City forward. Barcelona and Bayern also linked with Haaland As expected, Real Madrid would not be alone in the race if Haaland becomes available. Bailey claims Barcelona are also interested in the Norway international, while Arsenal and Bayern Munich are among the other clubs being linked with a potential move, creating a competitive market around the 26-year-old. As such, the uncertainty surrounding Manchester City is the major cause of this development.  The Premier League’s investigation into the club covers alleged breaches between the 2009/10 and 2017/18 seasons, and the outcome could have significant consequences depending on the eventual findings and any sanctions imposed. If that happens, it is likely that City’s players would seek exits, and this is where Real Madrid aim to strike.
