Real Sociedad ease Hearts out of Europa Cup

With the sides having finished goalless last week in Edinburgh, the Scottish champions rarely threatened to break their duck in San Sebastian. Real had all the pressure and it told after 18 minutes as winger Laura Camino superbly headed Ainhoa Marin's cross inside the far post from 12 yards. Hearts' hopes of reaching the break level ended five minutes from half time when Erin Rennie pulled down rival midfielder Intza Egiguren and Paula Fernandez slotted the spot kick. The hosts added to that four minutes later when Cecilia Marcos' low cross was prodded home from close range by fellow midfielder Ainoa Campo. Torrential rain stemmed the home flow as Lauren Wade fired Hearts' first effort on goal straight at the home goalkeeper from a 55th-minute free-kick. However, Marin prodded in the hosts' fourth after 76 minutes.
