Roma expected to be fined for Settlement Agreement breach

Roma expected to be fined for Settlement Agreement breach During the European clubs’ meeting in Copenhagen, Dan Friedkin spoke with Ceferin, ahead of the final assessment of Roma’s financial statements. The Giallorossi have not complied with the settlement agreement; they have not met the financial target set four years ago. Trigoria is awaiting information from the club’s financial control body, which will issue its opinion in November. Meanwhile, Friedkin had the opportunity to chat with UEFA’s president about financial sustainability. Roma’s owner explained the reasons behind the violation, reiterating that the virtuous path remains one of the cornerstones of his project. Costs are expected to decrease and revenues to increase, thanks in part to the construction of the new stadium. After the June 30 deadline, Roma intensified its contact with Ceferin. As reported by Repubblica, the Giallorossi club has initiated a sort of negotiation to avoid a worst-case scenario. The threat of exclusion from the cup competitions for the 2027-28 season remains, but Friedkin has received reassurances. The Roman club will certainly receive a fine ranging from €10 to €15 million, with a possible squad restriction. The official verdict will be announced in November.
