The 27-year-old, who has played as both a right wing-back and right winger, left Monaco in the summer after five-and-a-half seasons with the Ligue 1 side. Diatta, who played for Senegal at the 2026 World Cup and has made 26 Champions League appearances, has signed a one-year deal with the option of a further year. "After talking with the people here, the project was very clear in my head." he told the club's website. "Watford is a top club that were in the Premier League not too long ago, and I think this is the place they should be." Diatta started his professional career with Norwegian outfit Sarpsborg 08, before a spell at Belgian side Club Brugge and has made more than 265 club appearances, scoring 36 goals. At international level, he has earned 66 caps for Senegal, scoring twice. Latest Watford news, analysis and fan views
