'Worrying signs but not a crisis yet'
[BBC] We asked you to rate Celtic's season and tell us what Martin O'Neill should be focusing on during the international break. Here are some of your comments: Kevin: Team looks short of quality in defence, central midfield, wide players and we don't know who our No.1 striker is. Yes, we are top of the table, but we struggle against anyone with an organised defence and one or two quick players up top. So much works needs to be done, but is the manager and coaching staff up to the task? Jamie: We have flattered to deceive in early matches with individuals getting us results. We need to nail down our best 11, especially in the wide areas, then get some rhythm and consistency of performance. Worrying signs in recent weeks but not a crisis yet. Paul: League form is not representative of actual form - the Champions League exit is still having an impact. My gut feeling isn't that we'll turn this around easily - I had more confidence during the run-in last year. Big signings need to start tuning in - Jota's comeback can't happen quickly enough. I hope they have made good use of the international break. Andy: What is all the panic about? We are top of the league. Yes, European results have been bad but that is no surprise and nothing new. So we lost to Rangers, I'll take losing to them four times as long as the league is won. Calm down everyone and get behind your team. Ben: If we're realistic, not a single one of our players gets into the Rangers team. That speaks volumes. Patrick: Out of the Champions League and out of the League Cup, lost twice to Rangers in a week and seemingly have no consistent starting line-up. It hasn't been fantastic. We need a good run in the Europa League to save the season because it's not looking good so far. Eamon: Failure to qualify for the Champions League was a disappointment financially but not a disaster because the squad aren't good enough to play at that level. The two defeats to Rangers were harder to take because of the lack of fight or guile to even get into those games. The tactics for both games need to be questioned. My main concern is the players look unfit and poorly coached. With respect to Shaun Maloney and Mark Fotheringham I just don't think they have the quality or experience to turn things around, their track record prior to Celtic isn't great. A shake-up in the coaching staff is a necessity.
