Marciniak was also the man with the whistle for Italy’s 3-3 draw with Germany in the second leg of their Nations League quarter-final back in 2025. He also took charge of Italy’s 2-0 loss against Switzerland in the EURO 2024 round of 16, a 0-0 draw against England in the Nations League in 2022 and a 3-1 friendly defeat against Belgium all the way back in 2015. Marciniak was also the referee for the 2023 Champions League final when Inter were defeated 1-0 by Manchester City in Istanbul. He has also refereed a World Cup final, between victors Argentina and runners-up France in Qatar in 2022.
