It is the first time in four years that the Gulls gave reached the final round of qualifying for the first round of the competition. The victory came a week after a disappointing 3-0 loss at Billericay Town, with boss Jimmy Ball making five changes. The decisive moment came 10 minutes after half time when skipper Matt Worthington fired in Callum Morton's cross into the top corner. "The day required us to come here and be grittier, tougher, more aggressive, more committed, and that's what happened," Ball told BBC Radio Devon. "We knew it was always going to be a very tight game and possibly one goal and we were hoping and praying it was, and it was," he added. "So it's wonderful we are in the hat and we take it and move on."
