Barcelona new signing set to return to Camp Nou with a brilliant record

Barcelona new signing set to return to Camp Nou with a brilliant record The international break will soon be over, with Barcelona set to resume their campaign next weekend, when they take on Getafe. The Catalans have not lost too many players during the break so far, with Raphinha’s injury not proving to be serious at all. In fact, the break served as a continuation of good form for many Barcelona players, including new signing Anthony Gordon. The winger capped off a brilliant few weeks with a goal and an assist in England’s emphatic 7-0 thrashing of Croatia in Rijeka. The victory was a masterclass from the Three Lions, with Harry Kane and Bukayo Saka both netting braces, and Jude Bellingham and Morgan Rogers also getting on the scoresheet. Remarkably, Gordon has now scored in all three of England’s games during this break, against the Czech Republic, Spain and Croatia. His assist for Bellingham against Croatia was a moment of real quality too, with the former Newcastle man producing a sublime control and twist before teeing up his teammate. In total, Gordon has been directly involved in eight goals across his last seven games for England, a remarkable return that underlines the fine form he is in. A timely boost for Flick Gordon has been in fine form this season. (Photo by Carl Recine/Getty Images) Gordon’s international exploits are a hugely encouraging sign for Hansi Flick ahead of a demanding run of fixtures. The Englishman has already impressed in his debut season at Barcelona, registering four assists in La Liga and settling seamlessly into the club’s attacking system. The only thing missing is his first goal in Blaugrana colours, something he will be desperate to put right when club football resumes. For Flick, having a winger in such electric form is a welcome luxury, particularly with the likes of Raphinha, Lamine Yamal and Fermin Lopez also firing. With Barcelona flying high at the top of La Liga and Gordon returning in sparkling touch, the signs are ominous for their upcoming opponents. The 25-year-old has adapted to Spanish football superbly, and his rich vein of form for England suggests there is plenty more to come.
