Andoni Iraola would have to spend 'huge' money to bring long-term target to Liverpool
Andoni Iraola would have to spend 'huge' money to bring long-term target to Liverpool Andoni Iraola has managed to keep his Liverpool squad unbeaten across all competitions since the start of the season. On the face of things, this makes it look like the Reds have been top-class but, in reality, they're sixth in the Premier League and were the second-best team for large portions of their Champions League win against Atletico Madrid . Obviously, all the new players that they've signed will need to get adjusted to the way that things work in L4 with every single one of the players also needing to get used to Iraola's style of play. Once all of these things begin to line up, it certainly feels like the Reds will be in a much better position than they currently find themselves in. Bringing some new faces through the Anfield doors would also help things massively and now, the Reds have been told exactly what it will take for them to sign one of their long-term targets this summer. Liverpool would have to spend 'huge' money to bring Aurelien Tchouameni to Anfield One of Liverpool's main problem areas at the moment is their midfield. Even though they spent £116 million on Florian Wirtz last summer, the German hasn't really proven his worth yet. They do have other players to use there such as Dominik Szoboszlai and Alexis Mac Allister but, then that means their double pivot is likely to be much weaker. However, another problem with that is that neither Szoboszlai or Mac Allister are number sixes. This has left the Reds with a massive issue that they need to resolve which is why the latest update from Football Insider about Liverpool's long-term pursuit of Aurelien Tchouameni isn't what fans will have wanted to hear. "Liverpool will have to part with a huge fee if they are to lure Aurelien Tchouameni away from Real Madrid, sources have told Football Insider," they wrote . "The 26-year-old has been a long-term target at Anfield and has been tipped as the answer to their ongoing issues in midfield after what has been a mixed start to the season. "However, the France international has established himself as an important part of Jose Mourinho's plans, and Los Blancos are not prepared to let him go easily in the near future. "Liverpool will find it hard to land Tchouameni given Real Madrid's lofty demands for his signature. "The Reds have not been afraid to spend big money in recent windows, but may be reluctant to do so in January as they aim to reduce their spending. "They remain strong admirers of Tchouameni, but after he penned a new contract at Real Madrid during the summer, they may have to delay any move further into the future." Aurelien Tchouameni would be a perfect signing for Liverpool Liverpool finally getting a deal for Tchouameni over the line would be unreal. The Frenchman has been one of Real Madrid's most important players over the last couple of years with his defensive work being some of the best on display in the world. He's also only 26 years old so, despite the amount of experience he already has under his belt, he's still got plenty of his career left to go. As Football Insider indicated, signing the former AS Monaco man would cost Liverpool a hefty chunk of change but, with how much players such as Elliott Anderson sold for this summer, any fee that Real Madrid demand could be seen as worthwhile. Of course, Tchouameni's arrival won't help Liverpool in regards to their homegrown issues but, as far as defensive midfielders go, it doesn't really feel like they could do better than the Los Blancos star.
