Manchester City In The Mix With Arsenal And Chelsea To Sign This Gifted Defender: A Star In The Making? In a recent post on X , journalist Gustavo Tutinha claimed that Manchester City are in the mix to sign Vasco da Gama defender Breno Sales. It has been mentioned that the Mancunian club are facing competition from Chelsea and Arsenal in the race to land the Brazilian prospect next year. Sales’ Impressive Rise In Brazilian Football Sales has come through the youth ranks of Vasco da Gama and has done well to establish himself as an important member of their Under-20 team. The 16-year-old has made 21 appearances for the Brazilian club’s U-20 side so far across all competitions. The talented teenager is currently among the most gifted young centre-backs in Brazilian football. Hence, it is no wonder that Man City are in the running to land him in 2027. Sales is still quite raw and would need time to prove his worth at the highest level. Plus, there are some concerns over whether he can cope with the physical style and high intensity of English football if the Premier League giants manage to bring him on board next year. Sales is a good tackler of the ball and can read the danger well to earn possession back for his team on the defensive third of the pitch. He usually puts his foot through the ball when the opposition are on the offensive and is a good passer as well from inside his half. The Brazilian youngster can even use his strong 1.87m frame to win a few 50-50 aerial duels for his side. Sales is primarily a central defender but can also fill in as a left-back if asked to do so. However, he would need some time to adjust to life in England. We can expect Sales to enhance the quality of Man City’s academy. He has what it takes to become a future starter at the Etihad Stadium as long as he continues to improve with each year. At 16, Sales has the potential to be a success story in English football in the long run. He is undoubtedly a star in the making, so Man City would be wise to snap him up in 2027.
