Alvini plays down Frosinone’s flying start: ‘Survival is the only objective’

Alvini plays down Frosinone’s flying start: ‘Survival is the only objective’ Massimiliano Alvini is refusing to let Frosinone’s excellent opening weeks shift the target, insisting survival remains the only objective. Speaking at the Festival dello Sport in Trento, the coach was asked whether his side had crept up on people. “We have a single objective, as the president said today, and it’s achieving safety. It’ll be difficult, it’ll be a very long journey,” Alvini said, with quotes via TuttoMercatoWeb . “Now we restart on Saturday. At this moment we’ve been on an important journey but we’re aware of what awaits us. We’re not looking now at whether we’ve done well.” He made clear what would constitute success. “The nicest result is if you then achieve survival at the end of the journey. You have to enjoy that.” FROSINONE, ITALY – SEPTEMBER 06: Antonio Raimondo of Frosinone Calcio celebrates after scoring goal 2-0 during the Serie A match between Frosinone Calcio and Venezia FC at Stadio Benito Stirpe on September 06, 2026 in Frosinone, Italy. We’ll see, he’s having treatment. We’ll see mid-week.” Raimondo has four goals already, a tally bettered only by Donyell Malen, and Juventus are reportedly monitoring him as part of a revamped scouting approach. Giorgi Kvernadze, who Roma are tracking at a €25m valuation, has been similarly productive on the other flank. He’s ready. We’re very happy with him and with the signing. He’ll give us a hand.” He also batted away a question about his players and Euro 2028. “You see those things. I have to think about coaching them and improving them.”
