Cliftonville lift Premiership title after Glens win
Cliftonville lifted the Women's Premiership title after defeating Glentoran 4-1 at Solitude. The Reds had secured the title before the final game after the Glens' 1-1 draw with Linfield. Mia Moore cancelled out Teegan Lynch's opener for the hosts but Caitlin McGuinness stole the show to kick start the title celebrations. McGuinness netted twice to put Cliftonville in control and she completed her hat-trick in injury time. The sides will meet again in the Irish Cup final on Saturday, 24 October. Elsewhere, Sophie McKnight scored twice as Linfield beat Lisburn Rangers 3-2 to end a positive campaign on a high. McKnight's double put Linfield two goals up before Abbie Smyth pulled one back in first half injury time. Northern Ireland midfielder Megan Bell restored the two-goal advantage before Ellie-Mae Dickson scored a consolation goal late on. Larne finished the season at the bottom of the table but picked up their first victory of the season as Hollie Johnson scored the decisive goal in a 1-0 win at home to Lisburn. There was late drama at Seaview as Derry City won 3-2 at Crusaders. Julie Nelson cancelled out Rachel McIntrye's early opener for the Candystripes, but Derry reclaimed the lead when Cache Crumlish-Hawes netted in the 53rd minute. McIntyre grabbed her second in injury time, but there was still time for Maja Stachura to set up a grandstand finish in north Belfast.
