Larin returns to Southampton with 'back irritation'
Cyle Larin is the top scorer in the Championship with seven goals [Getty Images] Southampton striker Cyle Larin has withdrawn from international duty with Canada after experiencing back irritation. The Canadian national side released a statement saying the forward was struggling with an issue before their friendly against Peru over the weekend and he has now returned to Saints for further evaluation. Larin - the top scorer in the Championship with seven goals in eight matches - was an unused substitute on Saturday as Jesse Marsch's side beat Peru 2-0 in Montreal. His club team-mate Daniel Peretz withdrew from international duty with Israel on Friday after picking up a minor injury of his own. Southampton will hope both can be fit for Sunday's south coast derby when Portsmouth visit St Mary's. The 'Brampton bagsman' taking Championship by storm Latest Southampton news and analysis
