Sunderland Star Is On The Radar Of Liverpool: Should Le Bris Cash In On Him?
Sunderland Star Is On The Radar Of Liverpool: Should Le Bris Cash In On Him? In a recent report on Patreon , journalist Alan Nixon mentioned that Sunderland keeper Matty Young, who is currently playing on loan at Huddersfield Town, is on the radar of Liverpool. It has been stated that the Reds are eyeing a move to secure the services of the English talent from the Black Cats next year. Young’s Impressive Loan Spell At Huddersfield So Far Young has enjoyed a good run of form while on loan at Huddersfield Town in this campaign so far as he has managed to put in a few impressive displays for them in League One. The 19-year-old has conceded eight goals and kept a couple of clean sheets in nine matches for the Yorkshire club this season in all competitions. The talented teenager is currently one of the most gifted young keepers in English football. Hence, it is no surprise that a top club like Liverpool are hoping to land him next year. His current contract at his parent club, Sunderland, will run out in the summer of 2030, so the Black Cats will be under no immediate pressure to cash in on him. Young can be a safe pair of hands in between the sticks when he is playing with confidence on the field. He is a solid handler of the ball and can use his quick reflexes to make some important saves at the back for his team. Standing at 1.91m, the English talent is a commanding presence inside his penalty area. However, he is still quite inexperienced at the highest level and would need time to prove his worth in the Premier League . Young is under a long-term contract at the Stadium of Light. Hence, Sunderland boss Regis Le Bris should not consider cashing in on him next year. At 19, Young will only improve with each season. Hence, the Wearside club would be wise to keep hold of his services beyond next summer as he could be a future starter for them. Young has the potential to be a world-class keeper someday. Therefore, Sunderland should only entertain letting him go if they receive a big offer for his services in 2027.
