French FA provide updates on Liverpool centre-back Jérémy Jacquet injury Missing from the team sheet for the clash between France and Belgium, Jérémy Jacquet (21) is suffering from a “strain to his left hamstring” , the French Football Federation (FFF) have announced. A starter in Les Bleus ’ last two matches – against Belgium (0-1) and then Italy (1-1) – the Liverpool centre-back has therefore been ruled out of this fourth and final match of the September international break. Whilst no timeframe for his recovery has yet been given, Jacquet is expected to return to the Reds’ training ground tomorrow to undergo further tests. A key part of the system of Andoni Iraola, the former Stade Rennais FC player has started six of the seven matches he has played for Liverpool since the start of the season. Sidelined with a shoulder injury for the entire second half of the 2025-26 season, Jacquet had seen his preparations for the 2026-27 campaign disrupted by a knee problem. GFFN | Léo Aschi
