Manchester City Superstar Wants To Make A Move To Spain: What Should Maresca Do? In a recent podcast , journalist Graeme Bailey stated that Manchester City forward Erling Haaland wants to make a move to Spain. Bailey said, “Our understanding is that the timeline – irrespective of a City relegation – was that Haaland and his camp were looking at 2027 [for a transfer], because that’s a down year in between big [international] competitions. “I was told by an Arsenal source [that] clearly if a player like Haaland comes on the market – as they are one of the biggest clubs in Europe – they’re going to be interested. “And obviously, as we know, they’re looking for a striker. They spent all summer trying to sign Julian Alvarez, so arguably, they’ve got the money as well, if they’re going to do it. “But my understanding is that Erling Haaland wants to go to Spain. Primarily, we’re talking Real Madrid and Barcelona.” Haaland’s Impressive Form In The Premier League Haaland has enjoyed a great run of form for Man City this season. However, Man City was found guilty of breaching the Premier League’s Financial Fair Play rules, which could force them to cash in on Haaland next year. What Should Manchester City Boss Enzo Maresca Do With Regards To Haaland? Haaland is proficient at finding a yard of space for himself to get some strikes in at goal. He has proven himself to be a ruthless finisher in the final third and can engineer the odd chance for others around on the offensive end of the field. Standing at 1.95m, the Norway international is a strong presence in the air as well and has a wealth of experience at the highest level. He is currently one of the first names in Man City boss Enzo Maresca’s teamsheet. At 26, Haaland has his peak years ahead of him. However, Maresca would be powerless to stop him from leaving if Man City fail to win their appeal.
