Barcelona believe 17-year-old left-back has the potential to break into Hansi Flick’s first team

Barcelona believe 17-year-old left-back has the potential to break into Hansi Flick’s first team Barcelona believe Jordi Pesquer has the potential to become a first-team player, with the teenage left-back emerging as one of the most promising defenders in the club’s academy, according to Mundo Deportivo . The 17-year-old has already caught the attention of Hansi Flick’s coaching staff after training with the senior squad during pre-season.  His progress has been particularly encouraging because he has moved rapidly between different levels of Barcelona’s development system, giving the club an early opportunity to assess how he handles increasingly demanding competition. Rather than rushing him towards a permanent first-team role, Barcelona want Pesquer to build consistency through regular minutes.  On that note, the belief in his long-term potential is growing, but his next stage of development will be just as important as the talent that has brought him into the spotlight. It is said that the coaching staff value the way he approaches sessions, an important consideration for Flick when assessing whether young players can handle the demands of senior football. Barcelona’s immediate focus is to help Pesquer maintain his concentration and competitive intensity throughout a full 90 minutes, which suggests the club sees his development as an ongoing process rather than viewing his pre-season promotion as a signal that he is ready for regular first-team football. Pesquer’s crossing and acceleration set him apart Pesquer’s attacking delivery is considered his standout quality.  Jordi Pesquer’s development is being appreciated at Barcelona. His pace is another major asset, particularly for a full-back expected to contribute in advanced areas while covering ground defensively.  Combining acceleration with accurate delivery gives Barcelona a promising profile to develop on the left side of defence. Those qualities help explain why people familiar with his progress believe he has a realistic chance of reaching the senior team.
