Relentless, versatile and fiercely committed, the Uruguayan has become one of the most trusted figures at the Santiago Bernabeu over the past few years.  Whether deployed in midfield, on the wing or even deeper in defence when required, Valverde has proven his value to the club. That is precisely why the latest report surrounding his future is likely to raise eyebrows among Real Madrid supporters. According to journalist Miguel Serrano , Real Madrid have not completely ruled out the possibility of selling Valverde if a major market opportunity presents itself.  The journalist mentions that while new manager Jose Mourinho wants the midfielder to remain part of his project, the club is said to be keeping all options open as they continue planning the next phase of their squad rebuild. With Arda Guler continuing to grow in importance, Aurelien Tchouaméni remaining a key figure and Bernardo Silva arriving to add further quality , competition for places is expected to intensify significantly next season. Amid these developments, although Mourinho views Valverde as an important member of the squad and would prefer to keep him at the club, the Real Madrid leadership stands in a different position on the matter. According to the journalist, if an opportunity arises to sign a genuine Galactico-level player, the club may need to generate significant funds through player sales.  In that scenario, Valverde is one of the few players capable of commanding an enormous transfer fee. Valverde wants to remain at Real Madrid Despite the growing speculation, it is known that Valverde has no desire to leave, which is why any potential departure would likely depend more on the club’s strategy than the player’s wishes. The situation is further complicated by internal tensions following a training-ground incident involving Tchouameni during the closing weeks of the season. According to reports, the relationship between Valverde and certain members of the dressing room has become strained since the incident.  In fact, some rumours have even suggested that a number of players would not oppose his departure if significant changes are made to the squad this summer.
