Chelsea Are Leading The Race For This Bournemouth Midfielder: What Will He Bring To Stamford Bridge? In a recent report , journalist Graeme Bailey mentioned that Chelsea are leading the race for Bournemouth midfielder Alex Scott. It has been stated that the Cherries are facing stiff competition from Liverpool and Real Madrid in pursuit of the English talent next year. Scott’s Impressive Form In English Football Scott has made a decent start to this Premier League campaign as he has been responsible for putting in a series of impressive displays for Bournemouth in the middle of the park. The 23-year-old has scored one goal and earned two assists in six matches for the Cherries this season on all fronts. The English midfield ace is currently one of the most talented central midfielders in the Premier League. Therefore, the Blues would do well to lure him to Stamford Bridge next year. His current contract at the Vitality Stadium will run out in the summer of 2028, which could open the door for Chelsea to snap him up on the cheap in 2027. He usually puts his foot through the ball when required and can shoot it with venom from long range. The English talent is full of energy and running in the middle of the park and can chip in by scoring and creating the odd goal for his side. Scott is primarily a box-to-box midfielder but can also operate as an attacking midfielder or as a right-winger if asked to do so. He is already quite familiar with the Premier League and won’t take any time to adjust to life at Chelsea. Scott would bring more energy and dynamism to Xabi Alonso’s midfield department. He has what it takes to challenge for a regular starting role at Stamford Bridge in the coming years. At 23, the future looks quite promising for Scott as long as he continues to improve with each season. He would help the Blues challenge across all competitions over the next few years. Thus, Alonso would be wise to go all out to bring Scott to the West London club this January or next summer.
