Liverpool Are In The Running To Recruit This Nottingham Forest Talent: Should Iraola Go For Him? In a recent report , journalist Pete O’Rourke claimed that Liverpool are in the running to recruit Nottingham Forest talent Murillo. It has been mentioned that the Reds would have to compete with Chelsea in the race to land the Brazilian centre-back next year. Murillo’s Solid Season In English Football The 24-year-old had an impressive campaign at the Midlands club recently as he managed to put in a run of solid performances for them on the defensive end of the field. Murillo registered two goals in 39 appearances for Nottingham last season across all fronts. The Brazilian talent is currently one of the most talented centre-halves in Premier League football. Hence, it is no wonder that the Reds are eyeing a move to bring him to Merseyside next year. His current deal at the City Ground will expire in the summer of 2030, which could make it tough for Liverpool to land him on the cheap in 2027. Murillo is a good tackler of the ball and can sense the danger well to make some important interceptions for his team inside his half. He usually clears his lines when the opposition are on the offensive and is a tidy passer as well from the back. Standing at 1.83m, the Brazilian sensation can use his robust frame to win a few 50-50 duels in the air for his side. He has a wealth of experience in the Premier League and won’t take any time to adjust to life at Liverpool if they can devise a way to recruit him. We can expect Murillo to bring more bite and steel to Andoni Iraola’s defence. He is capable of challenging for a regular first-team spot at Anfield in the coming years. At 24, Murillo has his best years ahead of him, which makes him a decent choice for the Reds to pursue this January or at the end of this campaign. He will also help the Merseyside club compete across all competitions over the next few seasons. Thus, Iraola should focus on trying everything in his power to go for a defender with Murillo’s skillset in 2027.
