Chelsea Are Big Admirers Of This Barcelona Defender: Should Alonso Move In For Him?

Chelsea Are Big Admirers Of This Barcelona Defender: Should Alonso Move In For Him? In a recent report , Mundo Deportivo stated that Chelsea are big admirers of Barcelona defender Jules Kounde. It has been mentioned that the Blues are keeping a keen eye on the France international ahead of a potential move for him next year. Kounde’s Decent Form In La Liga Last Season Kounde managed to prove his worth as a consistent performer for Barca in the previous campaign when he put in a run of impressive displays for them in La Liga. The French talent scored three goals and secured four assists in 47 matches for the Catalan club last season across all competitions. The 27-year-old is currently one of the most talented full-backs in La Liga. Hence, the Blues would do well to get a deal done for him next year. His current contract at the Nou Camp will run out in the summer of 2030, which could make it difficult for Chelsea to sign him on a cut-price deal this January or at the end of this season. Kounde is a good tackler of the ball and can scan the danger well to earn possession back for his team inside his half. He usually puts his foot through the ball when required and is a tidy passer as well from the right-back position. The French sensation can even chip in by scoring and creating his fair share of goals going forward. Kounde is primarily a right-back but can also function as a central defender if asked to do so. However, only time will tell whether he can adapt to the physical side and high intensity of the Premier League if the Blues manage to bring him on board in 2027. We can expect Kounde to bring more quality and depth to Chelsea head coach Xabi Alonso’s defence. He has what it takes to challenge for a regular first-team spot at Stamford Bridge. At 27, Kounde is about to enter his prime, which makes him a decent choice for the Blues to pursue this January or at the end of this season. However, Alonso has to give him some time to adjust to life in England before he can get the best out of him.
