Barcelona wonderkid rejoins training after six-week injury layoff

Barcelona wonderkid rejoins training after six-week injury layoff Barcelona have received positive news regarding one of their most closely watched young talents, with Ebrima Tunkara returning to group training after spending six weeks recovering from an ankle injury. According to Mundo Deportivo , the 16-year-old has now resumed work with his teammates as Barcelona carefully manage his return.  Notably, Tunkara is not expected to feature immediately, but there is growing optimism that he could soon make his competitive debut for Barça Atlètic. Ebrima Tunkara injury update: Barcelona youngster back in training Tunkara suffered a traumatic ligament injury to his left ankle after taking a heavy blow during a pre-season friendly against CF Vilanova. The injury came at an unfortunate moment, as the academy player had completed the entire pre-season under Hansi Flick and was pushing to begin the campaign with Barça Atlètic before the challenge ruled him out. That means he is unlikely to play this weekend against SD Logrones, although his response to training will determine how quickly the club can increase his workload. Tunkara could return against Utebo The more realistic target is the following fixture against Utebo, when Tunkara could potentially be included in the squad. If his recovery continues without complications, that match could provide the teenager with his first official minutes of the season.  Barcelona have high hopes for Ebrima Tunkara. Tunkara has bigger goals There is little reason for Tunkara to rush his comeback, as Barcelona will want him fully prepared before increasing his competitive workload, particularly after an injury that interrupted his development. Notably, the teenager also has an important international target ahead. He is expected to represent Spain at the Under-17 World Cup between November and December. For now, though, his priority is to rebuild his fitness and be available for his club before shifting focus to national team duty.
