Marseille interested in Lorient’s Pablo Pagis

Marseille interested in Lorient’s Pablo Pagis Olympique de Marseille have joined the race to sign FC Lorient playmaker Pablo Pagis (23), according to a report from  Ouest-France. Pagis, who came through the academy at Lorient, is coming off the back of a breakthrough season in which he scored 10 goals in 28 appearances in Ligue 1. The Frenchman has announced a desire to leave  Les Merlus,  however, the Breton club won’t simply be giving him away, even if he has just one year remaining on his deal. A price tag of €10m was initially floated, but that was denied by president Loic Féry, who said that it would take €20m to lure Pagis away from the Moustoir. RC Lens, who next season will compete in the UEFA Champions League, have shown an interest already, as have Paris FC. Marseille are the latest club to show an interest in signing the No.10, although  Ouest-France  adds that negotiations have yet to start. GFFN | Luke Entwistle
