Raiola: ‘Donnarumma reassured by Manchester City, nothing will change’

Raiola: ‘Donnarumma reassured by Manchester City, nothing will change’ Gianluigi Donnarumma’s agent insists the goalkeeper has been reassured by Manchester City after the club were found guilty of breaching Premier League financial rules. With quotes courtesy of Calciomercato.com , Enzo Raiola told Radio Napoli Centrale that the ruling will not change anything for his client. Last month an independent commission upheld almost all of the 115 charges against City , finding that the club broke the league’s financial rules over nine seasons. City deny wrongdoing and are appealing, and any sanctions are still unknown. “Will the Manchester City chaos change anything? No, nothing will change for us or for Gigio. News comes out periodically. The club has spoken with Gigio and everyone is calm. Now there are important games against Liverpool and PSG, then sporting justice will take its course. But Gigio has had reassurances from Manchester City.” Raiola also spoke about Donnarumma’s bond with City teammate Erling Haaland, who was also represented by his late cousin Mino. “They’re two lads with the same character. Haaland was managed by Mino Raiola, and before that Gigio also had a special relationship with Mino. They’re two good lads, two warriors with hearts of gold. That’s why they get on so well.” BOLOGNA – OCTOBER 05: Gianluigi Donnarumma of Italy looks on during the UEFA Nations League 2026/27 group phase match between Italy and Türkiye at Renato Dall’Ara Stadium on October 05, 2026 in Bologna. In some games and incidents, people loaded Gianluigi with doubts and criticism. I always preached calm. Many people criticised Donnarumma unfairly, especially given his quality. Now he has taken on the leadership of the national team. The criticism of Gigio? There’s always been too much. They pointed out his mistakes for a few more likes.” BOLOGNA – OCTOBER 05: Gianluigi Donnarumma of Italy makes a save during the UEFA Nations League 2026/27 group phase match between Italy and Türkiye at Renato Dall’Ara Stadium on October 05, 2026 in Bologna. He was outstanding in last week’s draw with France in Paris, but missing a third straight World Cup this summer still hurts. “The absence from the World Cup weighs heavily on Donnarumma. It’s his biggest ambition, and every Italian lad should have it. When Gigio talks about the national team, his eyes light up. And every time he sings the anthem, I get a little tear in my eye. Now he has the captain’s armband too. Was he a monster against France? He’ll keep doing it for many more years!”
