PSG’s squad is hard to improve on at the moment, after another successful summer for sporting director Luis Campos. But they’re still always looking out for the next best thing, and right now they’ve got their gaze fixed on a rising star of Brazilian football. FootMercato claim that 18 year old Luis Pacheco of Palmeiras is the latest gem to attract major attention from the Parisians. The club that has produced Estevao Willian and Endrick in recent years looks to have produced another gem. Pacheco’s contract and release clause make immediate deal unlikely Luis Pacheco training. Sources in Brazil say PSG and Shakhtar Donetsk have pushed hardest for the teenager so far, but Palmeiras aren’t interested in selling just yet. They know they can get significantly more by developing him further before making the big sale. Pacheco has a contract until the end of 2029 and a €100m release clause. By then, there may well be a clearer pathway for the youngster to make it into the first team eventually. In other news… PSG agreed a deal with Braga for a “first refusal” on their midfielder Mario Dorgeles. Mika Godts has been speaking about Desire Doue and how he wants to reach his teammate’s level one day. Ferran Torres left the Spain camp with an injury last week, and we’re all waiting for an update from Luis Enrique on the in-form striker’s fitness.
