A sense of calm reportedly remains at Manchester City
A sense of calm reportedly remains at Manchester City The Manchester City players have been somewhat sheltered from the backlash of the ‘115’ verdict . Due to the extended international break, the City players have been away either on international duty or the players who weren’t called up by their countries had a period of rest and holidays. This allowed them to be sheltered from the fierce backlash. However, there have now been reports surrounding the mood of the City players after the Premier League’s guilty verdict fell. It would seem that a sense of calm remains at Manchester City based on comments from Gianluigi Donnarumma’s agent and a report from Jack Gaughan from the Daily Mail. Gianluigi Donnarumma’s agent believes that nothing will change at Manchester City despite the outside noise. Football Italia has relayed quotes from Gianluigi Donnarumma’s agent, Enzo Raiola, which came via Calciomercarto.com that the 115 verdict which was delivered has not changed anything for the Italian goalkeeper. Raiola explained that Donnarumma has had reassurances from Manchester City and the focus is on City’s next two matches against Liverpool and PSG. Enzo Raiola explained: “ Will the Manchester City chaos change anything? No, nothing will change for us or for Gigio. News comes out periodically. The club has spoken with Gigio and everyone is calm. Now there are important games against Liverpool and PSG, then sporting justice will take its course. But Gigio has had reassurances from Manchester City. ” Jack Gaughan has reported for the Daily Mail that there is a sense of defiance amongst some of the Manchester City players. Furthermore, Gaughan reports that some City players are determined to win the Premier League title despite the cloud that hovers over the club. Also, Gaughan reports that while some players have doubts over what is occurring at City, there are currently no players who are desperate to ‘bail out’. Manchester City’s players can only trust the word of the City hierarchy. All the City players can do is focus on matters on the pitch. That is all they can control. Based on the comments from Enzo Raiola, City remains confident that eventually they will clear their name. The 115 verdict hasn’t swayed this view and that confidence has been portrayed to Enzo Maresca’s squad. It remains to be seen if this confidence is well placed. However, all the City players can do is trust the word of the club’s management. They are yet to steer them wrong despite the current situation and how dire it seems. From here, all Enzo Maresca and his players can do is focus on continuing their strong start to the 2026-27 season. They have to block out the noise and go about their work. It does seem, based on Enzo Raiola’s comments and Jack Gaughan’s report, that they will do this in a calm fashion. If that prevails, Manchester City could continue to power on on the pitch despite what surrounds the club. The City squad remains defiant and will continue on in a calm manner despite the guilty verdict that has hit the club. It would seem that the hysteria is so far only in the media and hasn’t entered the CFA at this point. That does seem like good news and we may find out at Sunday if that it what has occurred when City take on Liverpool in a hostile environment.
