Kylian Mbappe to Arsenal or Liverpool? Reports says Real Madrid star considers club change in 2027
French superstar Kylian Mbappe's Real Madrid dream could end next year, as a Fichajes report out of Spain says the 27-year-old may leave the club. Mbappe's move to Real was supposed to catapult the World Cup winner's career to the next level. He's instead seen former club Paris Saint-Germain win back-to-back Champions League titles. Former PSG teammate Ousmane Dembele has also beaten Mbappe to a Ballon d'Or. MORE — How will Liverpool, Man City line up Sunday? The report says Arsenal and Liverpool are monitoring the players performances and that Real only have so long to satiate Mbappe. "If Real Madrid's board fails to change the player's dissatisfaction by the season's end, Mbappé will request to leave and seek negotiations with another club for a change of scenery." He won Ligue 1 in 2016-17 and moved to PSG, winning six more league titles while leading France to the 2018 World Cup and a runner-up finish in 2022. Mbappe has only won one-off trophies with Real, finishing as runner-up to Barcelona in consecutive La Liga seasons. He has seven league goals in seven matches this season under Jose Mourinho to give him 94 goals in 111 appearances for Real. Kylian Mbappe considering Real Madrid exit in 2027 Only so many clubs can afford Mbappe, who reportedly came close to joining Liverpool before making the move to Real. The Madrid club has had a toxic few years, with player power leading to the ouster of Xabi Alonso last season and the re-hiring of Jose Mourinho this season. Real lost the Madrid derby before the international break and is already six points behind Barca on the table. Here’s what Fichajes says : "According to journalist Daniel Riolo, the French international is contemplating leaving the club as he is not satisfied with the squad to compete at the highest level, sparking immediate interest from Premier League clubs like Arsenal and Liverpool." Mbappe is one of the most complete forwards in the world and — as mentioned — Real have been a mess. Reports like this have often arrived in order to deliver changes at a club, and perhaps some folks in power wants to see changes at Real whether that's a star player or a manager. Could Mbappe join France teammate Bradley Barcola at Liverpool to kickstart Andoni Iraola's project? Could Liverpool blow up its pay structure now that Mohamed Salah has left town? Or might Mbappe be drawn to London? Manchester? With Barcelona out of the question and Bayern tied to Harry Kane, only a few clubs outside of Saudi Arabia can afford Mbappe. It seems likely he'll want the chance to win a Champions League and a Ballon d'Or . The Premier League gives him a great stage for both with France still 20 months from a EURO. Club ball will propel the honors.
