Marco Rose provides Alex Scott injury update ahead of Chelsea clash

Marco Rose provides Alex Scott injury update ahead of Chelsea clash Alex Scott Injury Blow Leaves Bournemouth Short Before Chelsea Clash Bournemouth have a problem, and it is a significant one. Alex Scott, one of Marco Rose’s most important midfielders, is set to miss four to five weeks after suffering a quad injury while away with England. That matters for two reasons. First, Scott has become central to Bournemouth’s early progress under Rose. Second, this was avoidable, or at least that is the obvious frustration around the club after the 23-year-old returned from international duty hurt. Rose did not go looking for a row, but his irritation was plain enough. “It’s an injury from a muscle, and we’ll do pictures [scans] in some days again,” Rose said on Thursday. “But we’re going to miss him, for sure, for four or five weeks. I’m very disappointed and it’s a big loss. “We miss a very important player, but I don’t want to blame anyone. “We are very happy that he made his debut for the English national team. He did well and we just hope that he is getting fit again quite soon.” Photo IMAGO Bournemouth Lose Midfield Drive The original fear was that Scott could be out for two months. Four or five weeks is better than that, but it is still a damaging absence for a side trying to build rhythm. Scott gives Bournemouth energy, progression and control in possession, and those qualities are not easy to replace. His England breakthrough only sharpened the sense that Bournemouth are losing a player in top form. He impressed on international duty and was handed his first senior start in the 7-0 win over Croatia, lining up alongside Elliot Anderson. Chelsea Interest Adds Extra Edge There is another layer here. Chelsea have tracked Scott closely and previously saw a £64million bid rejected. That underlines his value and Bournemouth know it. Losing a player of that profile ahead of a difficult trip to Stamford Bridge is bad timing and bad luck. What Bournemouth need now is a quick recovery and a clear plan without him. Rose has been measured in public. Internally, there will be far less patience about how this injury happened.
