Real Madrid & Barcelona set to pursue Erling Haaland signing

Real Madrid & Barcelona set to pursue Erling Haaland signing Erling Haaland is currently focusing on Manchester City, but speculation is growing that he could move to Spain amid his current club’s financial rule breach predicament. Photo by Michael Regan/Getty Images Fabrizio Romano reports that at this stage, no one knows what Manchester City striker Erling Haaland will do next. Romano reports that Haaland is ready to fight for Manchester City, and he’s fully focused on his current club, but it also wouldn’t be surprising if the player ultimately ends up moving to Real Madrid or Barcelona in the future. The two La Liga giants have wanted Haaland since his time with Borussia Dortmund , and they are set to continue to pursue his signature. But Romano claims this is not related to City being found guilty of over 100 charges brought against them by the Premier League. Nottingham Forest’s Oliver Glasner added: “My wish is just that this is quick … I think this must be (completed) as soon as possible. The most important thing is the integrity of the league because as soon as the fans can’t trust it, they won’t watch it anymore.” Photo by Alex Davidson/Getty Images If that justice involves Manchester City being relegated to the English lower leagues, either through a points deduction or expulsion, then players like Haaland would understandably want to consider their options. If you have the chance to be remembered as one of the all-time great strikers, do you stick around while your club play lower-league football during your prime years? Do you continue to aid the club owners who tarred your career by association to their alleged cheating? In the much shorter term, Haaland has been passed fit for this weekend’s match against Liverpool . Whether he’s really up for the fight will be put to the test for the first time on Sunday.
