Manchester United make final contract offer for 16-year-old prodigy amid Real Madrid interest
Manchester United make final contract offer for 16-year-old prodigy amid Real Madrid interest According to The Guardian , Manchester United have made one final attempt to try and convince teenage wonderkid JJ Gabriel to stay at the club amid strong interest from top clubs like Real Madrid and FC Barcelona. The English wonderkid has made it clear that he does not wish to continue at the club and has not been training with the Red Devils for more than three weeks now. Having recently turned 16 and possessing a European passport, he could secure a move away to any club within the continent as early as January, leaving Manchester United staring at the possibility of losing one of their most gifted academy talents. New contract offer made Despite the dire situation, Manchester United are not giving up and have made a new scholarship contract offer to Gabriel in order to convince him to stay at the club. And the report confirms that this offer has now been made. Regardless of his acceptance, and it seems improbable he will remain at Old Trafford, any team in the Premier League must now deal directly with Manchester United to agree on a fee for the player. If an agreement is not achieved, compensation will be determined by a tribunal of the Professional Football Compensation Committee. Real Madrid are leading the race. Real Madrid favourites to sign Gabriel However, as things stand, Real Madrid are seen as the favourites to sign Gabriel from Manchester United. Even though the likes of Barcelona, Bayern Munich, and Paris Saint-Germain are in the race, the Spanish capital giants are understood to be leading the race. And, as per the report, in case of a transfer abroad, Manchester United would stand to receive a nominal compensation of around £350,000 (~€400,000), as stipulated by FIFA regulations.
