Manchester United boss Michael Carrick calls for swift resolution of Manchester City’s case

Manchester United boss Michael Carrick calls for swift resolution of Manchester City’s case Manchester United head coach Michael Carrick has called for a swift resolution to Manchester City’s financial breaches case. City have been found guilty on nearly all charges related to serious breaches of the Premier League’s financial regulations. The Citizens have denied any wrongdoing and have appealed against the independent commission’s verdict. Man United boss Carrick wants a quick resolution to the City case. Sharing his thoughts on the case in his press conference on Friday, the English boss said : “What I will say, the sooner it gets sorted for everyone’s benefit, is essential.” Carrick was a key part of United’s squad in the 2011-12 campaign when City won the Premier League title on the final day of the season. He was on the pitch at Sunderland after the Red Devils’ 1-0 victory when news filtered through of Sergio Aguero’s injury-time winner against Queens Park Rangers that secured the title for them. Carrick also played twice in the 2017-18 season when United finished second to City. If the Blues lose their appeal, they will likely be hit with major sanctions. City could be stripped of their Premier League titles won during the period between 2009 and 2018. Carrick believes that even if the titles are added to his collection, he has been robbed of that winning feeling in the moment. He said: “I don’t even know what’s going to happen, but if we did end up at some point, something along the lines of if changes, it doesn’t change the emotion of that moment. Won’t get it back.” Man United will play Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday in their first game after the international break.
