Liverpool get their answer, Michael Olise ready to make massive commitment
Liverpool get their answer, Michael Olise ready to make massive commitment Michael Olise has reportedly made up his mind. He's ready to make a massive commitment. Liverpool have been in the race for Michael Olise for a while now. If you can call it a race - Olise is still very much at Bayern Munich and didn’t appear to be too close towards an exit in the summer. But Olise’s contract expires in 2029 and that opens the door just a little. Bayern would look to sell next summer if he doesn’t show any signs of renewing, not wanting to wait until 2028 when they’d be forced to sell below his actual market value. The situation has alerted Liverpool and Real Madrid. The two biggest teams in Europe without an elite right-winger - and Olise is about as elite as they come. Michael Olise has made a decision But Liverpool have a problem. Maybe that’s underselling it - they’re not getting Olise, to put it plainly. Sky Germany report that the Frenchman will either move to Real Madrid or renew his contract at Bayern and that decision is coming next year. If Real Madrid go all out, he’ll try and head to Spain but it’s otherwise going to be a big long-term contract with Bayern. Liverpool, it appears, aren’t in the equation. Olise is ready to commit his future somewhere but it won’t be Anfield and that means the Reds have got to find themselves a new target. That’s a little bit devastating as Olise would be the ultimate signing in 2027, though we can’t imagine it’s a shock to many people. Signing star players from Bayern hasn’t exactly been something Liverpool are known for - they don’t traditionally shop in that market. Especially as Olise would almost certainly cost a record-breaking amount even if he were to move. Can Liverpool even afford that? Should they even want to pay it? We’re not so sure. Nor will we actually find out. Olise is staying put or heading to Madrid and Liverpool are going to have to find a plan b.
