Confirmed: Two notable absences for Getafe ahead of Barcelona clash
Confirmed: Two notable absences for Getafe ahead of Barcelona clash Getafe will be looking to spring a surprise when they take on FC Barcelona at the Spotify Camp Nou this evening, with kick-off scheduled in a few hours. The Madrid-based side have never won away against the Catalans, and the challenge has become even more difficult following two unexpected absences from Jose Bordalas’s squad. No Enes Unal and Orel Mangala Barcelona are in excellent form and are targeting their eighth consecutive La Liga victory. Getafe, meanwhile, will have to cope without one of their most important players, leaving Bordalas with a significant problem ahead of the match. The player in question is Enes Unal, whose absence comes as a surprise. At his pre-match press conference, Bordalás had insisted that all his players were available. However, Unal is not in the squad list that has flown to Catalonia and has also been ruled out of Getafe’s Conference League match against Craiova on Thursday. Unal is not the only unexpected absentee from Bordalas’ squad. The decision not to include defensive midfielder Orel Mangala has also attracted attention. The 28-year-old Belgian is another regular in Getafe’s starting line-up, meaning the visitors will arrive in Barcelona considerably weakened. Both players have been left out because of muscular discomfort. Their absences come on top of the previously known unavailability of Juanmi and Christantus Uche. Martin Satriano has been included in the squad, but his chances of starting remain uncertain. The striker had to leave Uruguay’s international camp early because of an inflammatory condition affecting his knee.
