Liverpool to battle European giants for the next Luis Suarez Liverpool have implemented a very particular recruitment strategy at Anfield in recent years, and they look set to continue. The Reds have become known for signing some of the best young talent not just from around England but around the globe to add to their academy ranks. Local youngsters no longer take priority at the Kirkby academy, with the likes of Rio Ngumoha, Mor Talla Ndiaye and Arman Pesci added to bolster the youth set up recently. Over the summer Liverpool agreed a deal to bring Columbian youngster Samuel Martinez to Anfield when he turns 18, and they are looking to repeat that trick. Liverpool to race Europe’s best for South American starlet The Reds’ recruitment team are constantly scouring the globe for the next best wonderkid, and a Uruguayan with a resemblance to Luis Suarez has now piqued their interest. According to a report from TEAMtalk , Liverpool have joined the race for Defensor Sporting forward Nicolas Scotti, a 16-year-old right-sided attacker who has already featured for Uruguay at u18 level. The Reds aren’t the only side interested in Scotti though, with Real Madrid, Barcelona, Atlético Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain all monitoring the teenager. Arsenal and Manchester United are also interested, but Liverpool’s interest is reportedly the most advanced in England. Scotti’s contract reportedly features a £6 million release clause, but Liverpool would be unable to register the youngster until his 18th birthday and would therefore need to wait to sign him. Having only just broken through in his native Uruguay Scotti is definitely a signing for the future, but Liverpool may face a challenge in getting the teenager to wait. With interest from Brazil also reported the youngster may choose to make a move before he turns 18, but that will likely do little to deter Liverpool if they do truly believe in the 16-year-old's potential.
