McTominay returns after heart surgery as Napoli beat Frosinone
Italian Serie A Napoli 3 - 0 Frosinone FT Scotland star Scott McTominay made his Napoli comeback following heart surgery as Massimiliano Allegri's side cruised to a 3-0 victory over Frosinone in Serie A. McTominay replaced teammate David Neres in the 61st minute and received a rousing reception from the home support at Stadio Diego Armando Maradona. The 29-year-old's ablation procedure - a minimally invasive operation to correct irregular heart rhythms - took place in Manchester last month and was described as "a complete success". The former Manchester United midfielder was substituted after 56 minutes of Napoli's 2-1 league defeat by Como in August, after which a mild benign arrhythmia was discovered, prompting the corrective treatment. He returned to team training earlier this week. Kevin de Bruyne's penalty and Noa Lang's straightforward finish had put Napoli two goals up at half-time and McTominay was involved in the final third as they pushed to extend their lead. Napoli did find a third in second-half stoppage time as De Bruyne swept home Giovane's cross for his second of the game. The result takes Napoli up to eighth in Italy's top flight, with 10 points from six matches. McTominay's heart procedure 'a complete success' McTominay resumes Napoli training after surgery
