Julian Ward wants to sign record breaking attacker for Liverpool
Julian Ward wants to sign record breaking attacker for Liverpool Liverpool have been linked with many different players over the last couple of years. And, while some of the deals that they've wanted to confirm have been agreed, there have also been times when they've missed out. For example, Yan Diomande was clearly the Reds' main target in the summer transfer window but, in the end, he made the move to Real Madrid. Obviously, Liverpool ended up with Bradley Barcola who is just as good, if not even better than the Ivorian but, since no proper replacement has been signed by Liverpool to replace Mohamed Salah, Julian Ward is still on the lookout for fresh talent. This has led to the rumour mill going into overdrive and now, yet another player has emerged as a potential target. Liverpool are keeping close tabs on Villareal's Alberto Moleiro One of the main areas of Liverpool's squad that Andoni Iraola wanted to improve over the summer was their attack. And, while he did manage to bring in Barcola and Victor Munoz , it still feels like Liverpool are an attacker or two short. That is, especially with Hugo Ekitike and Alexander Isak both out injured. Of course, Jayden Danns and Lewis Koumas have been given the privilege of having a regular role in Iraola's squad this term but, realistically, the Reds need more talented players than them if they want to get back to their best. This is why, despite spending over £150 million on two new attackers in the summer, Liverpool are still being linked with new ones. And now, as per a fresh update from Hooligan Soccer, yet another winger has entered the Reds' thought process. "Ahead of the January 2027 transfer window, Villarreal’s Alberto Moleiro is becoming one of the most coveted talents in the European transfer market," they wrote . "The 23-year-old winger and attacking playmaker is on track to meet or exceed the 16 goal contributions from last season in all competitions. "Interest from Premier League heavyweights is further accelerating momentum surrounding a potential move. We’ve been informed that Arsenal are tracking the 23-year-old’s progress closely, preparing to present a Premier League option to the player’s camp. "Additionally, Liverpool, Manchester City, and Borussia Dortmund are keeping close tabs on the player’s overall contract situation. "While formal club-to-club negotiations have not yet commenced, all interested suitors are actively conducting match analysis, generating detailed technical reports, and testing the waters via intermediaries. "Villarreal executive management maintain no intention of letting their prized asset leave easily. "Having signed Moleiro from Las Palmas in July 2025 for a club-record package of $17.9 million guaranteed plus $2.25 million in add-ons, the Yellow Submarine hold an exceptionally strong position." Alberto Moleiro is another solid option that Liverpool could explore Since the summer transfer window slammed shut, Liverpool have been linked with many different players. Some such as Assane Diao, Lamine Camara and Alex Scott have been consistently linked whereas others, such as Moleiro, have only just popped up as potential options. However, every single player that the Reds have been linked with so far would help improve their ranks. And, although Moleiro is a relatively unknown attacker, the fact that he can play in multiple positions and contributed to 16 goals across all competitions last term proves that he's ready for the step up. Indeed, it would mean trying to figure out how to fit another left-winger into Iraola's plans but, on the face of things, a deal makes sense. Here's hoping that Liverpool manage to get a deal over the line for at least one of their reported target, whether that's Moleiro, or someone else.
