Watch: Hansi Flick makes classy gesture after winning September’s La Liga coaching award Barcelona manager Hansi Flick has been named La Liga Coach of the Month for September, but the German chose to share the recognition with his coaching staff rather than take centre stage alone. Flick posed with his colleagues for the traditional photograph with the award at Camp Tito Vilanova, with Barcelona later releasing the image.  The gesture followed a remarkable month in which Barça won all four of their La Liga matches, collected 12 points and scored 19 goals. The award recognises Barcelona’s outstanding league form, but Flick’s decision to involve his staff also offered a glimpse into the collective approach behind the team’s performances. Barcelona’s September form earns Flick La Liga award Barcelona enjoyed a perfect September in La Liga, delivering four convincing victories against Valencia, Levante, Racing de Santander and Sevilla. Flick’s side began with a 5-0 demolition of Valencia at Mestalla before securing a 4-2 away win against Levante.  They then returned to the Spotify Camp Nou and overwhelmed Racing de Santander 7-2 , before finishing the month with a 3-1 victory over Sevilla at the Sánchez Pizjuan. Those results gave Barcelona 12 points from a possible 12, with 19 goals scored and five conceded.  Their attacking output averaged 4.75 goals per game, showing the effectiveness of Flick’s side during the month. Rather than celebrate the individual accolade alone, Flick included Arnau Blanco, Heiko Westermann, Marcus Sorg, Toni Tapalovic, Pepe Conde, Jose Ramon De La Fuente and Benjamin Kugel in the official photograph. Notably, Flick has consistently operated with a staff that plays an important role in implementing his methods, and the shared photograph placed that contribution in the spotlight. Raphinha and Cancelo also receive Barcelona recognition Flick’s award was not the only September honour celebrated by Barcelona.  Before the Getafe match, Raphinha was recognised as the club’s best footballer of the month, while Joao Cancelo received the award for the best goal after scoring the opener in the 7-2 victory over Racing. Flick had the opportunity to present his own award in front of the fans but chose to keep the focus on the Getafe fixture. He instead shared the moment with his staff the following day in a quieter setting.
