Liverpool Are Determined To Recruit This Barcelona Midfielder: One For The Future? In a recent report , Fichajes stated that Liverpool are determined to recruit Barcelona midfielder Marc Bernal. It is understood that the Reds are eager to bring the Spanish talent to Anfield next year. Bernal’s Important Role At Barcelona Bernal has served as a useful squad player for the Catalan club in this campaign so far and has put in a few impressive displays for them in La Liga. The Spanish talent has made nine appearances for Barca this season, picking up a couple of assists in the process across all competitions. The 19-year-old is currently among the most gifted central midfielders in La Liga . Hence, it is no surprise that the Reds are keeping a keen eye on him ahead of a potential move for him next year. His current contract at the Nou Camp will run out in the summer of 2029, which could make it tough for Liverpool to land him on a cut-price deal this winter or at the end of this campaign. Bernal is a solid tackler of the ball and can scan the danger well to earn possession back for his team inside his half. He usually puts his foot through the ball when the opposition are on the offensive and is an accurate passer as well from midfield. The Spanish talent can shoot the ball with venom from long range and has the vision to engineer some decent chances in the final third. Bernal is primarily a box-to-box midfielder but can also function as a defensive midfielder if told to do so. However, there are some question marks on whether he can cope with the physicality and high intensity of the Premier League if the Reds manage to get a deal done for him in 2027. We can expect Bernal to add more quality and depth to Liverpool boss Andoni Iraola’s midfield in the long run. He has what it takes to fight for a regular first-team spot at Anfield. At 19, Bernal has the potential to be a future star in English football as long as he continues to improve with each season. He is undoubtedly a prospect to watch out for in the long term, so Iraola would be wise to move him for him soon.
